Three months seems to be a mini milestone for Declan. It has still been a lot of work and being tired seems to be the adopted norm, but there has been some breakthroughs that have made all the difference. Declan finally figured out how to breastfeed well and he also began to sleep through the night without the need to eat in the middle of the night. He has become much more attentive and observant, smiles so much, gives the most excited squeals, and loves it when we sing to him.
Just before Declan turned three months, we took him on his first plane ride, which was to Portland. He adjusted real well to the colder climate and also joined me in admiring the fall colors of the trees.
My favorite things about him right now are how excited he gets when he sees his Dad. He gets the biggest smiles on his face whenever he sees him. I love how he somehow makes his way closer and closer to me throughout the night. It makes me think that he loves to cuddle. His favorite song to get him to calm down is “Dream a Little Dream of Me”. His squeals are the cutest thing to me, because it’s as though he can’t contain his excitement. He enjoys airports, because there are so many people to see, but he is also an introvert like his parents, so he’s much more relaxed and energetic when he’s alone with me and my husband.
